Social Worker – Deafblind Services

We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Deafblind Services team based in our Burswood office/ Perth metro SensesWA hubs. The Social Worker (this role) is responsible for providing high-quality evidence-based Social Work services to meet the social welfare needs of clients and their families within SensesWA’s Therapy Services Team; to deliver assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe quality client care in the area of support and short term counselling; to facilitate peer support and opportunities for information exchange for the client their family and significant others; and to provide effective clinical support, coaching, mentoring and supervision of allocated social work students.

SensesWA Therapists/Deafblind Services team have a community-based role delivering interventions where the clients live their lives, in family homes, schools and other appropriate local contexts and environments.

Reporting to Deafblind Services Manager, you will be working closely with a dedicated and supportive bunch of multidisciplinary therapists, providing family and person-centred evidence-based support to our clients. Our goal is for our clients to live their best lives!

What you will bring to the role:

  • Passion to coach and mentor colleagues as well as work collaboratively with clients in the disability sector as a Social Worker.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Previous experience working with clients with disabilities and their families and caregivers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to plan, implement and deliver person-centred evidence-based services.
  • Good understanding of and commitment to the National Disability Insurance Scheme Practice Standards & Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to manage your time while balancing the needs of a diverse caseload.
