Senses Australia works with, and for children and adults who are unable to live with their families and provide them with an alternative family to live with.
Host Families can be a family, a couple or a single person. They play a special role in the lives of children and adults with disability and ensure they are given a safe, stable and nurturing environment to grow, as well as welcoming them to become part of the family.
We are currently searching for full-time or respite (weekend) Host Families. If you are a reliable, empathetic and compassionate person who would like to make a long term commitment to nurture the development and growth of a person with disability, we would love to hear from you.

Aldene, Rob and Nathan
“We are really proud to see Nathans progress. His confidence and maturity have grown immensely. He has achieved so much since being with us. He now sets a goal and just goes for it. It’s so rewarding to see the progress that can be made and to see how proud he is of himself when he does.” Aldene
“I’ve done a lot of things since being with Aldene and Rob, like driving the boat on the river, kayaking, crabbing, fixing scooters and learning to drive. I had my 21st Birthday party which was great with my friends and family.
I feel like I have a great life and it feels good living here. My favourite thing to do at the minute when I’m not working is my driving lessons. My next thing is to get a better job that pays more money. Maybe a barista course. Aldene helps me to get a course and then hopefully I’ll get a new job. I want to save for a car.” Nathan
