Lego® — we all know it. Most of us grew up with it. But have you ever thought of the educational benefits of Lego?
To most people, Lego is just a toy but for many years Senses Australia have been using the educational benefits of Lego, coupled with children’s love of playing to help improve their communication and social skills.
The Senses WA Lego Therapy groups fall within the ‘play based’ therapy methods for children. Through having fun with Lego children learn to communicate with others and express their feelings, learn a variety of ways of relating to others, modify their behaviour and develop their problem-solving skills. Senses Australia run a number of groups each term.
Lego Group is not the only group therapy at Senses Australia. We run a broad range of support groups, workshops and school holiday programs that are aimed specifically for people living with disability, their families and carers.
Tailored to meet individual needs support groups enable people to learn new skills, build friendships and gain independence and confidence. Set in a relaxed environment our support groups create some unforgettable learning experiences which are both educational, fun and valuable.
Group topics and times are regularly updated from month to month. To keep up to date with what is happening visit our Workshops and Support Groups page on our website.
