About Deafblind Services / Dual Sensory Loss

Our specially trained Deafblind Services team work in partnership with individuals who are deafblind – a combination of vision and hearing loss and/or impairment.  Our therapists work with individuals and their families and carers to enhance independence through tailored services. We provide therapies such as occupational therapy, speech pathology, orientation and mobility support, orthoptics and more.  Visit senseswa.com.au/deafblind for details.

Support outside the NDIS for children aged 0-11 years: Deafblind Services

Securing NDIS funding for your child may not always be possible. You may be waiting for a formal diagnosis so you can make an access request or perhaps your child doesn’t meet the eligibility requirements to receive it.  Telethon New Buds offers support outside the NDIS for kids aged 0–11 years old who have a vision and /or hearing impairment, or are at risk, and who live in WA.

The program offers early childhood intervention and therapy services to support the development and goals of each child.  Services may include occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy, orthoptics, orientation and mobility, education, and more. Services can be accessed in various settings, including the child’s home, early childhood settings, schools in the Perth Metro and South West regions, or through telehealth .
