Senses Australia is offering our young clients a place in our group for children who connect with others using their AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems.
The group will be targeting communication goals using AAC that our clients and their famiilies, along with our therapy team have identified and are included in our clients Family Plan. These will be specific to each child in the group and it may include, but is not limited to:
- Connecting with others – social interaction
- Sharing information
- Commenting
- Requesting
- Using word combinations or short sentences
- How and when to model language on AAC systems
- Supporting communication partners with use of AAC systems
